Foster Family Needed

 

We always need foster homes until we are ready for adoption. 

If you live in King County, Washington, and interested in fostering animals, you can see more details about foster program at: King County Animal Care and Conrol

***How to Become a Foster Family***

1)  Attend foster care orientation
2)  Bring animals to your home from the Kent or Crossroads shelter
3)  Take care of them until they are ready to be adopted
4)  Take them back to the shelter for spay/neuter if needed.
5)  Take them back to shelter for adoption once they are healthy and strong or advertise on petfinder.com. 

***Steps to Take for kittens****

1)  Get young kittens (new-born to 8 weeks old or sick ones) from Kent shelter
2)  Take care of them until they hit 2 pounds or healthy enough to be spayed/neutered
3)  Take them back to Kent shelter once they are old enough to be fixed
4)  Advertise them for adoption (petfinder etc)
5)  Meet with people at a shelter who are interested in adopting them
6)  Go back to Step 1

***Steps to Take for Sick Cats***

1)  Get sick cats from the Kent or Crossroads shelter
2)  Take care of them until they are healthy enough to be adopted
3)  Advertise them to the public once they get healthy.  Make sure to quarantine sick cats from healthy cats.
4)  Take the same steps on 5 & 6 above.

Spike and Coco (Adopted 7-3-08)

Hi this is Spike and Coco.  We were adopted together right before 4th of July.  Which mean is that we can spend a lot of time with our new family this weekend!!  We are so excited to have a new life.  We want to say, "Thank you" to all the people who have contacted our foster parents about us. 

Jacob (Adopted June 14)

I found a good home with daddy and mommy on 14th.  When I met them, I knew they would adopt me because...I just knew it!  I miss all the foster kittens whom I met at my foster home but having a Mom and Dad is much nicer.

Alvin and Hana are brother and sister.  Alvin is the big brother, so he teaches both bad and good behaviors to his little sister, Hana.  Both Pumpkin and Alvin are boys and play rough, jumping, punching, grabbing, and rolling.  Hana follows the boys everywhere and from this learns how to behave as a kitten.  Although, she is such a nice little girl and doesn’t join in she will follow them and punch them from behind and run!  After a big battle, all 3 kittens sleep together and sometimes cuddle with their foster uncle Jacob who is a big Bengal Snow Leopard cat!  For more pictures.

Looking for Foster Homes

It's a kitten/puppy season.  We are looking for foster families to take care of animals temporally.  There are many kittens waiting for going to foster care at Kent shelter, and you can pick anybody who are ready to be fostered.
